Cole Palmer insists he has no plans to leave Chelsea and join Manchester United.
The 23-year-old is currently in his third season at Chelsea following his £40million move from Manchester City in the year 2023.
Last month, reports claimed Palmer was disillusioned with life at Chelsea and would be open to a move to United in the summer transfer window.
However, Palmer is adamant he will stay at Chelsea and believes the club can challenge for ‘serious trophies’ next season if the ‘right players in the right positions’ are signed this summer.
“Everybody just talks,” Palmer said The Guardian.
‘When I see it, I just laugh. Of course, Manchester is my home. All my family is there, but I don’t miss it. I’ll probably miss it if I’m gone for three months or something. But then when I get home I think there’s nothing for me anyway.
“I have no plans to leave Chelsea. We still have a lot to play for. We have FA Cup semi-finals and if we finish in a Champions League place that puts us in a good position to sign the players we need.
“We spoke to the owners and they are confident of the players who will do it. Reece will not sign a six-year contract unless he speaks to the owners and directors.
Reece and I talked a lot. About the things we need, the players we need to sign and how things should be. He wouldn’t sign a new contract if he didn’t know what was going on.
“We want to win now and I think if we add straight away in the summer we can compete for serious trophies next season. I don’t think we’re far away.
“If you sign the right players in the right positions and the right characters and profiles, I think we have more than enough quality to compete and be more consistent than we have shown this season.
“Bringing in a manager in the middle of the season, you don’t have pre-season, you hardly have time to train. You’re just focusing on the games. But the manager is good and when he has a proper pre-season and he gets his ideas right and how he wants to play, he’s a good manager.
“If we as players perform the way we need to perform and get the right players that we can, he and us as a group, we’ll do some work.”
