Kylie Jenner has shared the internet with her latest TikTok which fans have called ‘so out of touch it’s actually funny’.
The youngest Kar-Jenner sister — who boasts a net worth of $670 million, while her family is estimated to be worth around $3 billion — shared a video tour of the home in social media platform, and people can’t believe the wealth disparity.
Set in Sabrina CarpenterOn the duet-filled ‘House Tour’, Kylie took her 59.8 million followers around a sprawling mansion, thought to be either one of the family’s Palm Springs homes or an Airbnb rented out for Coachella.
Complete with a private basketball court, mirrored elevator, and a movie theater (we’ll get to the infinity pool later), the sprawling estate looked like something out of Sunset for sale.
From the beginning, Kylie showed viewers the scale of wealth. Pulling casually into a massive indoor-outdoor living space in a golf cart, the camera panned to show elegant furniture, spotlights and plants designed to give the place a botanical feel.
Walking through the Scandi-style space, where we counted at least five cream and gray lounge suites, Kylie proudly directed onlookers to a turquoise infinity pool.
There, TikTokkers got a glimpse of the many cream sunbeds perfectly positioned by the pool, and overlooking the sweeping expanse California the mountains.
The next stop on the tour was in said elevator, which took the reality star to the aforementioned sports area. The camera panned once more to the private cinema, where Kylie was reclining on soft earthy furniture in front of a large screen playing an old Justin Bieber music video.
(This was clearly in honor of him Justin’s Coachella set on Saturday nightwhich attracted controversy in its own way.)
Finally, Kylie headed outside to catch some rays on a large covered patio that offered more epic views of the Palm Springs mountain landscape.
Leaning against a dark balcony, she looked well and truly like she was living her richest girl life.
Unsurprisingly, then, the video caused a lot of backlash, with most commentators calling the tour “dull” and “dystopian”.
One person even went so far as to say they were ‘looking at District 12’, the smallest and poorest district in The Hunger Games.
‘Can we stop idolizing rich people? This video is so out of touch considering the world situation,” one person wrote, while another said: “Nobody should be this rich.”
Elsewhere, someone else said they ‘hope (they) never get that rich so (they) never get this from contact,’ as a fourth person echoed: ‘So unrelated, it’s actually funny.’
It wasn’t all offensive comments, though. Others saw the funnier side of the situation, joking that Kylie can only afford this lavish lifestyle because ‘Kim made a tape’.
Meanwhile, another user joked: “I never want to hear that money doesn’t buy happiness ever again.”
This isn’t the first time Kylie has shared snippets of herself increasing the property portfolio.
