Mangaluru: The Board of Governors of the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, has suspended former Registrar Ravindranath K from service.
By order of the Ministry of Education and according to the decisions of the Board, he was suspended from September 12, 2025, pending a departmental investigation. He was investigated for procedural irregularities and professional irregularities contrary to the Central Civil Service (Conduct) Rules, 1964.
Since the charges against him are serious and proven by the investigation, the board unanimously approved the punishment of his dismissal from the service. Prior to his dismissal, his tenure as registrar was also terminated as he held the post for more than five years as stipulated in the NITSER Act and Statute.
The Institute maintains a zero tolerance policy towards any form of misconduct or ethical compromise. This action reinforces NITK’s commitment to respecting the highest standards of integrity, transparency and accountability within its administration, a press release states.
