According to a Canadian bar association STATEMENT last week, media criticism of a judge who threw out evidence from two different trials because of his belief that the police were racist is apparently a “crude attempt to undermine public confidence in the judiciary”. The lawyers’ organization did not defend specific court decisions, or point out any flaws in the reporting.
