Full Spectrum Warrior
Really enjoyed it Weekend reader feature about Ant Attack and I agree that it was a classic that needs more recognition today. It is definitely one of the best games in the world The spectrum but it got me thinking about what my current favorite is.
I’d say Elite, Chuckie Egg, Knight Lore, and School Daze are all up there, but I think my favorite might be The Great Escape. Another great isometric game but so complicated for Sir Clive’s little 48K monster.
There isn’t really anything like that nowadays, which is probably true for most of the games I’ve listed. I’m still bummed that there isn’t a modern Elite console game and stuff like Knight Lore… I guess modern action adventures are in the same area, but nothing has ever been the same since all those old UK developers died.

Back to front
At the wall we knew something funny was happening Resident Evil Requiem story and ending and I think it’s as simple as running out of time to make it for the 30th anniversary. It’s a shame because for the first six or eight hours the game is pretty perfect, then it slowly bleeds out.

It’s not enough to break the game or anything, but when you get this close it feels really frustrating. I guess it’s too much to hope for a director’s cut that redones things, but maybe next time Capcom should consider rewinding the games – starting with the final cutscenes and boss battles and working back from there.
Also, I can’t believe it’s not relatively easy to find someone in Japan who is good at doing boss battles. There must be ex-Treasury people and the like everywhere. It’s weird that it’s been a problem with the series basically since the beginning.

The Legend of the Elden Ring
Video game movies aren’t something I’d normally get excited about, but it feels like it The Elden ring could be the one that breaks the curse. I know they’ve gotten better lately, but they’re still not great, but I’m hoping this could be it, especially if Alex Garland is a fan.
of set the sights there’s not much to go on, but it looks exactly like the game, so that should be worth something, even if it’s a pretty easy thing to recreate on that scale. It looks like the Zelda movie might be coming out around the same time too, which will be interesting.
I imagine to the average film reviewer they might seem like very similar concepts, but I can guess which one will come out better – and it’s not the Nintendo.

Rising prices
I just bought the Mario & Luma amiibo, which is my first amiibo I’ve bought at the new higher prices. I’ve attached some pictures so readers can compare their size to cheaper amiibo. The Mario & Luma amiibo cost me £24.99 including delivery Super Mario The amiibo on its own is £12.99 and the Tom Nook cost me £10.99.
As you can see, the packaging for the Luma amiibo is slightly larger than the lower priced amiibo. I’ve included a Switch game in the picture so people have an idea of how big the amiibo are. I bought the new amiibo as I am a huge fan of Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2.
I will be more selective about what amiibo I buy in the future, due to the new higher prices. I hope the amiibo for Resident Evil Requiem aren’t £24.99 each as it will be £50 to own them! Almost as much as buying the game!

GC: The prices are shocking, but we have to admit, Mario & Luma is beautiful.
A lot of money
This is very surprising to find it Take-Two has fired their entire AI team. You would have thought they would have kept it just to tick a box when attracting investors, but maybe they don’t need the money.
If that’s the case, and it’s not just the boss having a pet hate, I’d like to see that in other things they do. Like wasting money on weird ideas and indie games. But I can’t remember the last time Take-Two released something that wasn’t just a sports game or something Rockstar games.
They may not need an AI department, but you always need new and interesting games. Heck, I’d be happy with a new Bioshock if nothing else.

Male attic
After making a blunt and liberating comment about the size of the PS5 Pro yesterday, I felt it only fair to point out that you can fit these modern consoles under your TV quite easily, and while they’re big they don’t deserve the reputation they seem to have.
This modest space, a loft conversion, has a PS4 Pro, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X, regular box plug behind the Series X, Switch 2 behind the TV, PlayStation VR 2 in a box behind some classic gaming consoles and all the controllers, games and charging caps in the box. The TV stand was £50 five years ago from Argos.
I will say that although both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 look better on their feet, I can’t imagine that’s the most appropriate reason for most to keep them. So for me I do PlayStation 6 and Nextbox with horizontal focus as a design.

Luck of the draw
I don’t know if it’s on sale or if it’s priced so dynamically, but I picked up the Astro Bot from the PlayStation Store on Saturday for £32.99.
It’s as good as everyone says it is. It’s been a while since I enjoyed a game this much. It holds up very well against Super Mario Odyssey.

GC: We think it’s dynamic pricing (which is disgusting) as it’s £42.59 for us, a 29% discount.
A real roar
bought squealer over the weekend as i love arcade racers and loved it. My only problem with the game was the twin stick spin, which I just couldn’t figure out. But thankfully you can map both sticks to just the left stick and it was a game changer, it feels much more natural. So if someone is bothered by the controls, you can change them.
There are a lot of mechanics to learn, which provide strategy for racing, but another nice touch is in private or split-screen matches, you can turn off anything that others find complicated and just have a standard runner, which is cool.
The biggest problem is the price. £60 is a lot for a runner trying something new and I think it’s pushing too hard. I managed to pay for half of it with Microsoft Points so it only cost me £30. I think it should have been £40 and the game seems to be suffering because of it, which is a shame as it’s up there with Split/Second: Velocity and Blur for me.

GC: We totally agree. It’s a great game, but the price is a big ask for an IP that most people have never heard of.
Inbox-ka too
that Jesus: The Journey game must be some kind of failed superhero game they found the code for or something. Like you said, I don’t understand how these things are done in the PlayStation Store in the first place. Can I just load some pirated ROMs and Sony will leave them for six months until they figure out what they are?
Campbell
I’ve never heard of the guy who died, but Double Dragon was always my favorite growing up. So kudos to Yoshihisa Kishimoto and shame it went so young.
