Is the hotel responsible for money stolen from the safe?


Answer: Based on Article 928 of the Law on Civil Transactions of the United Arab Emirates, Federal Decree No. (25) of 2025, the hotel is not automatically responsible for the loss of money, negotiable instruments or valuables, unless: (i) they have accepted such items for safekeeping; (ii) unjustifiably refused to accept them for safekeeping; or (iii) loss or damage caused by the fault or negligence of the hotel owner or one of its employees.
