Bengaluru: Bengaluru (BDFA) defeated Kodagu 4-2 on penalties after the teams were deadlocked 1-1 at the end of regulation time to lift the KSF Inter-District Football League championship in Tumakuru on Wednesday.
Nitish K gave Gopal R coach’s side the lead in the 28th minute before Divakara HA restored parity from the penalty spot for Kodagu in the 37th minute.
In the shootout, Rohit Alwin Raj, Trishanth HY, Udhay Gowda G and Kanik Anil scored for Bengaluru while goalkeeper Godwin Vijay blocked the penalty kicks for Bengaluru to lift the title.
Earlier in the day, Bengaluru, who are also managed by Ramesh Kumar N, stormed into the final with a convincing 4-0 win over Shivamogga while Kodagu thrashed Chitradurga 8-0 in the other semi-final.
