New Delhi: More than 99 percent of of Delhi 1.45 crore voters have received registration forms as part of the Special Intensive Review (SIR) of the electoral rolls, with the digitization of completed forms close to 15 percent, according to official data.
According to the cumulative status report released by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Delhi, nearly 1.44 enumeration forms have been distributed since Wednesday, covering 99.23 per cent of the capital’s electorate.
The number of digitized forms is 21.75 lakh, accounting for 14.99 per cent of the total electorate. With the distribution virtually complete, the exercise is now expected to increasingly focus on the collection and digitization of completed registration forms.
The Election Commission on Wednesday revised the SIR schedule for Delhi. The door-to-door visits by booth level officers (BLOs), earlier scheduled to end on July 29, will now continue till August 8. Draft election lists will be published on August 17.
As per the revised schedule, claims and objections can now be filed from August 17 to September 16. These will be cast until October 15, after which the final electoral lists will be published on October 19.
According to the data, Northeast recorded the highest distribution of the form (18.70 lakh), followed by East (15.97 lakh), Southeast (15.45 lakh), West (14.44 lakh) and South (13.43 lakh).
Old Delhi, New Delhi and North East have achieved 100 per cent distribution, followed by East (99.66 per cent), North Central (99.64 per cent) and South West (99.67 per cent).
The North-West recorded the lowest distribution percentage at 96 per cent, followed by the Outer North (98.43 per cent), West (99.20 per cent), North (99.20 per cent) and South-East (99.24 per cent).
In terms of digitisation, South West leads with 2.89 lakh forms uploaded, followed by West (2.61 lakh), Outer North (2.46 lakh), North West (2.21 lakh) and North East (2.19 lakh).
The Outer North recorded the highest digitization rate of 29.57 percent, followed by the Southwest (21.80 percent), West (17.99 percent), North Central (18.72 percent) and the North (17.82 percent).
Old Delhi recorded the lowest digitization rate at 9.09 percent, followed by East (9.21 percent), Southeast (9.47 percent), Central (11.19 percent) and Northeast (11.71 percent).
As part of the SIR exercise, the BLOs are distributing two copies of the registration form to each voter. One copy is kept by the voter as confirmation, while the other is submitted to the BLO after it is completed. Voters can also submit their forms online.
