Jesse Kline: Mark Carney’s $70 billion deal with the United Arab Emirates went nowhere


Now, the federal and Alberta governments are seemingly aligned on the need for more pipelines, but private sector buy-in has not been assured because no one believes the newfound political will in Ottawa will be enough to overcome the Liberals’ byzantine approvals process, along with opposition from provincial premiers, environmental groups, First Nations and other special interests, which have been so successful at blocking major projects in the past.
